A cell is created to expose and guide the senior students to various employment and higher educational opportunities available to the BVSc. & AH graduates. Guest lectures by eminent personalities in the field are organised.
A group of five students are assigned to each faculty member to offer necessary guidance to them. These students are attached to the same advisor till they complete the degree programme.
The college has a very strong Parent Teacher Association with student welfare as its main objective. The association offers fellowships to meritorious students every year.
A Blue Cross Society to ameliorate the condition of the animals in the Union Territory is functioning in this College. The Society conducts Anti Rabies Vaccination Campaigns and Inter Collegiate Literary competitions on animal welfare with the help of the Student Council of the College.
A Students' Co-operative stores (PVCS Students' Co-op Stores Ltd.) is established to cater to the stationery, confectionary and cosmetic requirements of the staff and students. In addition, the stores is involved in printing and binding of Laboratory Manuals and in operating a canteen.
The Vijaya Bank is operating a permanent branch in the campus on all working days for the benefit of the staff and students. Vijaya Bank Endowment lectures are being organised, by inviting eminent personalities.
The following awards are available for the students of this college
Chief Secretary's cash Award of Rs.5,000/-, a Rolling trophy & a certificate of merit for the student of this college who secures highest marks in the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) competitive examination conducted every year by ICAR, New Delhi.
Intas Best Student Award (Gold medal) for the student who secures highest aggregate marks in Clinical Subjects (Clinical Medicine, Surgery & Radiology, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Preventive Medicine) sponsored by Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Baroda
Prof.B.Nandakumaran Memorial Gold Medal for the best student in the subject of Animal Breeding & Genetics
Prof.Y.V.B.Gangadhara Rao Memorial Gold Medal for the best student in the subject of Veterinary Parasitoloy.
Scholarships
Three buses are available for transporting the students and staff from Pondicherry town and back. The bus fee for transporting students will be Rs.3000/- per annum with effect from September 1, 2008 payable in two installments at the beginning of 1st and 2nd semester. For staff, the TA entitled to him / her will be adjusted against bus fee if the TA drawn by the employee concerned is higher than the enhanced bus fare of Rs. 3000/-

In addition, Registration Fee, Matriculation Fee, Recognition Fee and University Examination Fee shall be paid as prescribed by the Pondicherry University.
NOTE
1. All the above fee should be paid at the time of Registration.
2. If a student discontinues the course completely, he /she shall be refunded the Caution Deposit, the Students Council fee and Cooperative membership fee on a written request from the student concerned.
Rates of all fee are subject to revision and candidates are required to pay such fee as prescribed from time to time.
Hostel accommodation is available for men and women students. Application for accommodation in the hostel should be submitted by the interested students to the Dean in the prescribed form along with assurance by the parent or guardian for the good conduct and behaviour of the candidate during his / her stay in the hostel. Admission to the hostel will be made by the Warden on approval by the Dean of the College.
The students desirous of staying in the hostel have to pay the following fee (in Rs.) with effect from September,2003 onwards.

The mess will be managed by the students themselves. The monthly charges for the mess will be worked out and divided among the members of the hostel.
