TRAINING OF TRAINERS WORKSHOP

AT MADRAS VETERINARY COLLEGE FOR VETERINARY EXTENSION PROFESSIONALS FROM 2ND TO 7TH JUNE, 2008.

Six day workshop was organized by Capitalisaiton of Livestock Programme Experiences India (CALPI), Swiss College of Agriculture (SHL), Rajiv Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAGACOVAS) and Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University ( TANUVAS) at Madras Veterinary College on 6th and 7th June, 2008. A total of 19 veterinary extension faculty representing 13 veterinary colleges in the country actively participated in the workshop coordinated by Dr.Gabriel Kaufmann from SHL, Mr.Padma Kumar, Inter cooperation and Ms.Annet Wittevin, Inter cooperation, Bern. The focus of the workshop was on learning skills in teaching methodologies which include Socratic dialogue, Jigsaw and Programmed learning in addition to sharpening the skills in Problem based learning and Case study.

 

 

MEETING OF THE DEANS OF NETWORK COLLEGES

AT MADRAS VETERINARY COLLEGE, CHENNAI ON 6TH AND 7TH JUNE, 2008.

Two day meeting of the Deans of  Network veterinary colleges was organized at Chennai on 6th and 7th June, 2008. Nine Deans representing as many colleges took part in the meeting. This meeting was organized to appraise the Deans of the colleges about the interventions of CALPI on improving the quality of veterinary education of the country and to develop tentative road maps for development and capacity building of faculty in their respective colleges. Dr.G.Butchaiah, Dean Ragacovas welcomed the Deans of other colleges and faculty of the Madras Veterinary College. Dr.Lalitha John, Dean, Chennai, Dr.A.K.Joseph, CALPI and Ms. Annet Wittevin, Intercooperation addressed the gathering. The participants of the meeting were
